Amber and Tara, both Empowerment Directors for Deaf Hope, will be presenting this two-day training which will be providing training using a variety of learning styles, giving the audience opportunity to incorporate information through mini-lecture, PowerPoint, group discussion, activities and individual analysis. They will introduce the foundations of DVSV including the concepts of power and control and trauma. Participants will examine the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual violence (DVSV) within Deaf communities. Focus will be given to interpreting DVSV content in various settings along with language use, vicarious trauma and self-care.
